Our Story

Bevel was founded in the aftermath of the 2025 Los Angeles Fires with a simple mission: to help people recover from disaster in any way we could. Co-founder Adam Freed's parents lost their home, his childhood home, and dozens of his friends and family members lost their homes as well. For the first few months of Bevel's existence, all we did was build tools to help. The place people needed the most help – getting their insurance money paid out. Bevel's disaster recovery tools now support more than 25% of fire survivors in LA and are rolling out for any disaster survivor who needs, anywhere in the country. They are always free, and they are at the heart of what we do.

But we realized there was an even bigger problem. People simply didn't have the right insurance coverage for their needs. The world is getting more complicated, insurance is getting more complicated, but the insurance brokerage industry isn't keeping up.

Bevel today is an insurance brokerage and risk advisory for families with complicated portfolios. Our premise and promise are simple. We use technology to build the fastest tools, the smartest analysis, and the most seamless experience. We pair that with the most knowledgeable, caring people. We know that as a client, you want a real relationship with a real person who understands you and your needs. We want the person who supports you to be backed by the best technology available anywhere.
